My fav wordings :
From Rick Maynard : Australian Aboriginal Photographer
"As my body recovers from addictions so does my spirit""For me, photographs have always been personal, and living with these pictures somehow I hope to convey the intimacy of a diary." - R. Maynard, 1992 from 'Portrait of a Distant Land' exhibition
Note : I like this idea 'cause it's exactly the same as how I feel when I take photos, share 'em and read my own journal from those photos I've taken.
"I've let my frustration go, and I wonder about the others, will they let their frustration out here or release them on the community? I often wonder, with the experience I have of frequently visiting this place, how different I will be when I get release.. from prison" - R. Maynard from 'No more than what you see' collection
Note : For some people, prison can be equivalent to a sanctuary. Talk about sanctuary, I just attracted to the opening sentences. "I've let my frustration go, and I wonder about the others, will they let their frustration out here or release them on (something else that related to the public or others)?" It reminded me the time I sat in a park and looked up to the wide canvas of blue sky.
Next day, with the same person, we went to Art Gallery of NSW. There, I found a very interesting interactive art/installation which I'll review in another post ;)
